Mandalina Marina to Expand to Accommodate Large Yachts

January 23, 2012

yacht-charter-mandalina-marinaThe Sibenik-based Marina Mandalina is about to finish the construction work which it has undertaken in order to be able to accommodate larger yachts. These improvements include an increase in the number of berths from 367 to 446 with the addition of 79 berths that builders say can be used for berthing by yachts up to 140m in length.

Previous to the expansion project, the largest boat that could have been safely accommodated would have had to be 80m in length. These new berths were equipped with electricity supply of 600 Amps, which makes the Manadalina Marina one of the few marinas in yacht charter Croatia that can provide such conditions.

The builder promises that the dry dock area and the larger parking facilities will be ready for usage by the public as early as February of this year.  This is another reason why the Mandalina marina is slowly but surely becoming one of the favorite bases for mega yachts in the Adriatic, also thanks to its privileged position on the Croatian coast, between the two international airports of Split and Zadar.

The region also poses a few natural attractions, such as the 4 National parks situated in the vicinity of the marina, as well as the cities of Zadar and Split which are in themselves worth the visit, as old cultural, economic and industrial centers.

With yachts today getting bigger and bigger, it’s no wonder mooring space for such boats is becoming a valuable yet hard to find asset. And this is why the owners of the Mandalina Marina have undertaken this expansion project  and why it seems it has already paid off.
