One such place is Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic as it’s affectionately known which also shines in the winter time. There are plenty of yacht charter sailors which arrive from Nordic countries with much colder climates to enjoy the mild winters on the Mediterranean shore.

So what is there to do in Dubrovnik in the winter? Well, just because it’s cold it doesn’t mean that the city shuts down. There is something for the yacht charter enthusiasts to see and do at the Sailing Regatta of Gruz Harbor in November, there are the Christmas Festivities and Carol Singing in Stradun on Christmas Eve, there’s the New Year’s Eve celebration in Stradun, the Mardi Gras Festival, the St. Blaise Feast on February 3rd and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board Culinary Workshops.

Also in winter there are fewer people visiting so it’s a great time to visit if you want to take in more of the cultural life of the city. Museums and galleries offer lower rates and there are less people so there won’t be any queues to wait at for hours. Among the most appreciated are the Rector’s Palace, the Maritime Museum, the Archeological Museum, the Ethnographic Museum and the Modern History Museum.

Also in late autumn and winter locals of yacht charter Dubrovnik like to enjoy the produce of the land, such as wine and olives. You’ll find there are many tastings organized in this time of the year as wine collected from this year’s grapes has had some time to mature.

For some winter time fun, you should know that the former Olympic Ski Fields of Sarajevo are just 4 hours away by car so you can get to see a little snow and get that “”White Christmas ” feeling you’ve been dreaming about all year.
