The island of Vis earns the title of the farthest stretch of inhabited land from mainland yacht charter Croatia. For this reason mainly, it was chosen as a military base and thus it was off limits to almost everyone. After 1989 however, people realized the potential of the island and now it’s considered one of the best locations in the country.
